Carl Zeiss Superrotator Lense

Hartblei Cam - A revolutionary camera for the evolution of medium format digital photography
B3K Digital - North American agent - Canadian Dealer/Distributor

Combine the best of optics with the best of digital capture

New high resolution optical designs like the Carl Zeiss Superrotator lenses and numerous DSLR lenses, cover near or full frame 645 medium format. The Hartblei Cam brings these
two worlds together in one simple elegant solution for digital or film capture.

Hartblei Cam - Digital back support
Designed and precision manufactured for medium format digital backs, with the accuracy required for DSLR or 35mm mount lenses. The Hartblei Cam is built to order, supporting all key manufacturers. The following platforms are available:

  • Phase One / Mamiya 645
  • Contax 645
  • Hasselblad V-Series
  • Hasselblad H-Series

Hartlbei Cam - DSLR lens mount
Many DSLR lenses cover much larger than the 35mm format. Advanced designs for increased resolution provide a benefit of a significantly larger image circle. Most exceptional is Canon's 24mm tilt-shift lens which covers 645 format with movement while maintaining sharpness to the corner. The Hartblei Cam supports a digital interface for the Canon EF mount with full electronic aperture control. Additional manual mount versions of the Hartblei cam include Nikon F, Sony/Minolta, Pentax K, Leica R and Contax.

Hartblei - Carl Zeiss Superrotator lenses
Legendary Carl Zeiss optics are precision re-engineered adding tilt and shift capability. Focal lengths include the 40mm f4.0, 80mm f2.8 and the 120mm f4.0 Macro. All Superrotator lenses are available in Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony/Minolta. Pentax K, Leica R, and Contax.

A precision engineering marvel - the best investment

Advanced engineering solves some one of the most difficult aspects of focus required for use of DSLR optics.

Motorized Sliding back
The traditional accuracy problems with bearings and sliding backs has been overcome using a self aligning, motorized sliding back system. Friction is reduced using Teflon glides and complementary materials. The motor and battery systems are well proven and sourced from the Video industry. With a 7200mAh battery, the camera can run all day.

Phase One/Mamiya 645DF shutter
The open platform approach of Phase One and Mamiya was an attractive reason to select the 645DF shutter for the Hartblei Cam. The shutter is designed as a module that is easily replaced making service both in-expensive and simple.

Industry proven engineering and technology
The Hartblei Cam us built using industry standard, industrial strength parts and components that have been already tested and proven in the real world. A predecessor industrial and scientific model of the Hartblei Cam has been manufactured for 7 years requiring the highest quality, precision and durability. Our manufacturing partner has over 20 years of experience building cameras systems.

Industrial grade touch pad interface
Performance and worry free operation is the basis of the Hartblei Cam design. The best touch pad systems in the world are built for industrial applications. Many times the industrial environements are extremely harsh compared to photographic applications. The touch pad controls activate, power, sliding back function, aperture and shutter control.

2 Year Warranty
Our proven technology and modular design allow us to offer a 2 Year limited warranty for parts and construction.

Upgrade capable - Change customizations
Your investment is protected with special offers on upgrades or a change in the customization of your Hartblei Cam. If the digital back mount needs to be changed, we will remanufacture the body at a minimal fee as part of the service package.

Custom Build the perfect solution

Choose the best solution for your workflow and your existing equipment or select our most popular combination! If a new digital back mount is required, the Hartblei Cam can be
remanufactured with the new customization requirements.

Built-to-order
Select a back mount to fit your digital capture solution, select a lens mount and select a digital back platform for connection cables. It's simple and easy to get
the right solution.

If equipment changes in the future and a new digital back mount is required,
the Hartbei Cam can be remanufactured and a nominal cost. Custom solutions
for medical, industrial and scientific applications are also available.

The Canon EF mount - Our most popular solution
The electronic aperture control provides a powerful reason to select the
Canon EF lens mount. Canon lenses are closer to the capture plane making lens adapters quick and easy. Adapt Nikon or Leica lenses to the Canon mount. Hasselblad mechanical lenses, Mamiya manual lenses and Pentax 6x7 are also adaptable to the Canon mount. A new Canon to Nikon G-ED adapter is also available for the Nikon digital lenses that have no aperture adjustment ring.

Custom lens mount adapters add versatility
An extensive list of lenses can be adapted for all lens mounts solutions offered
by Hartblei. These solutions offer adapters for both DSLR and medium format lenses. The adapters are built in Germany by NovoFlex and are exceptional in
both precision and build quality.
